Core Values

True worship of God transforms our hearts.

At New Hope we believe that effective corporate worship involves engaging our hearts in at least three things:

•      Verbal Declaration: Giving to God the glory that is His alone  
•      Genuine Humility:  Yielding to God as our Sovereign     
•      Heartfelt Gratitude:  Remembering what God has done for us 

As we come together week by week we are seeking to be a people of true worship.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105)

We measure all belief and practice against the written Word of God -- God's source of truth for mankind.  As we submit our hearts to God's truth, we are finding the following to be absolutely true in our lives --

"The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward." (Psalm 19:7-11)

What an amazing gift God has given to His children -- the gift of communing with Him in prayer.  Consider these words --

"This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him." (1 John 5:13-15)

What an amazing promise God offers to us, and yet the key to this is learning to ask according to His will.  We find His will in the Bible, so devoting ourselves to prayer involves understanding what it is that God wants to accomplish in our lives and in the world, and persistently asking Him in faith to do it!

Fellowship is a communion of the spirit out of that which is shared in common. The possibility for this grows out of the very nature of God Who exists in perfect fellowship with Himself.  Our Lord prays that we too might be drawn into this wonderful fellowship with Him --

"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me." (John 17:20-23)

As we experience this fellowship with God on a vertical basis, we also are meant to experience it with each other on a horizontal basis, which involves three essential things --

1. Fellowship of Christians is rooted in the character of God
2. Fellowship of Christians is sharing in the presence of God
3. Fellowship of Christians is the expression of God in us

At New Hope we seek to develop community where we experience wonderful fellowship, God's design for His people, for to miss out on Body Life is to lose the tangible expressions of God as seen in His people!
